The Confederation of BRICS Chambers of Commerce in Thailand: Building an Economic Basis and Grassroots Economy in Support of BRICS

BRICS is an informal group of states comprising the Federative Republic of Brazil, the Russian Federation, the Republic of India, the People’s Republic of China and the Republic of South Africa.  The BRICS member countries are known for their significant influence on regional affairs and they are all members of the G-20, the group of the largest 20 economies in the world.

In 2015, the five BRICS countries represented over 3.1 billion people, or about 41% of the world population, and four out of five members are in the top 10 of the world’s rank by population.  As of 2018, these five nations had a combined nominal GDP of US$18.6 trillion, about 23.2% of the gross world product, combined GDP (PPP) of around US$40.55 trillion (32% of World’s GDP PPP) and an estimated US$4.46 trillion in combined foreign reserves.  Bilateral relations among BRICS nations have mainly been conducted on the basis of non-interference, equality, and mutual benefit.

Our Confederation of BRICS Chambers of Commerce in Thailand was created in August 2018, after an initial meeting at the Indian-Thai Chamber of Commerce presided by Ambassadors of BRICS countries in Thailand and presidents and senior representatives of the five BRICS chambers of commerce in Thailand.  The event was attended by many Board Members and member companies of the five BRICS chambers of commerce.

The goal of the Confederation of BRICS Chambers of Commerce in Thailand is to increase commerce amongst our members, as well as their market visibility in all five BRICS countries

In support of this private sector initiative, the five BRICS chambers of commerce decided to create this web platform to facilitate commerce amongst our member companies, and to promote their products and services in our home countries and all over the world.

We hope you consider joining us in our profitable journey!
